Rare Supermoon Eclipse This Weekend
Won't be seen again for 18 years
If the sky stays clear we’ll be treated to a lunar eclipse on Sunday night, and it will coincide with a super moon. The combination of the two is rare – it won’t happen again until 2033. The moon will start to darken just after 8 o’clock tonight; the eclipse peaking just before 11 o’clock. During this total lunar eclipse, the moon will appear about 14 percent larger and 30 percent brighter than we are used to seeing it.
