Provincial Festive RIDE Stats Are High, But Down From Last Year

Nearly Six Hundred Charged During Holiday Spot Checks

Provincial police say not enough drivers are getting the message about drinking and driving, following the release of their holiday RIDE stats. The OPP say they charged 573 people across the province during their Festive RIDE program, running from November 23rd to January 2nd. They add just over 350 people had their licences suspended thanks to roadside warnings. While that seems like a lot, police point out the percentage of people charged this holiday season is down compared to last year.
