Provincial Economy Firing On All Cylinders

Premier says elimination of deficit in sight

Higher exports and more household spending helped fuel the Ontario economy in the first quarter. Net growth, says Premier Wynne, was three per cent – highest in Canada and all G7 countries. She predicts the provincial economy will continue to be one of the fastest growing in Canada over the next two years and the government will be able to meet its goal of eliminating the deficit next year. The momentum in growth is encouraging, says Wynne, especially with so many uncertainties in the global economy.
