Power Outages And A Boil Water Advisory

Snow storm took a toll

The weekend was pretty much as advertised by Environment Canada – an abundance of snow in parts of northern Simcoe County and Muskoka (close to 30 centimetres in the Coldwater-area), not so much in Barrie and points south. The system that brought that grief has moved on; flurries exepcted to end by early afternoon through Muskoka.

Several thousand Hydro One customers remain without power through northern parts of the county and Muskoka – estimated restoration ranges from noon until 6 tonight. And because a power outage affected a water treatment facility in Severn Township, residents on the West Shore system should boil their water for a minute before using it, until further notice.
