Poster Campaign Gives Women A Safe Way To Get Out Of A Date

There’s a new way for women in the British town of Lincoln to stay safe if a date starts to go wrong. They can go to the bartender and say “Hi, I’m Angela”. It’s a code phrase alerting staff the woman needs some help. They will in turn call a taxi or or help her out discreetly. The poster was created in partnership with Lincolnshire City Council, the Lincolnshire Rape Crisis center and the national Pubwatch organization ― a group of volunteers in the UK whose “key aim is to help achieve a safe, secure and responsibly led social drinking environment in all licensed premises throughout the UK and thereby reduce alcohol-related crime.” Click here for more on this story.
