Police Score Touchdown With Minimal RIDE Program Charges Laid

Super Bowl Spot Check Results In 5 Charges Out Of Almost A Thousand Vehicles

The Panthers weren’t the only ones feeling the sting following yesterday’s big game. South Simcoe Police say their Super Bowl RIDE program saw 950 vehicle stopped during the game, with a handful of charges laid. One driver allegedly tried to run offense by turning around and going the opposite way, but police tackled him and say the guy was in possession of some pot. Another driver got a penalty flag when police say he failed a roadside test. A total of 23 drivers were given roadside breath tests, and police say only three were found to be in the WARN range, bringing on a three day licence suspension.
