The POKEMON-GO app was released in Canada yesterday and there was so much demand to get out and start playing it, the servers crashed.

The Nintendo owned POKEMON a big hit through the 90’s is back with a vengeance with this new mobile app.  The app uses your phone’s GPS and clock to detect where and when you are in the game and make various Pokémon “appear” around you on your phone screen so you can go and capture them. The idea is to have you travel around the real world searching and collecting and as you move around, and depending on the time of day, different and more types of Pokémon will appear for you to lure and eventually capture.

Already since the games release last week in the U.S., there have been reports of accidents and injuries while people scurry around various cities staring into their phones while searching to collect items from Pokestops that are hidden around their cities in different locations.

If you want to capture all of the Pokémon and earn the associated medals you’ll need to search far and wide, night and day, so don’t be surprised if you hear rustling around in your backyard at 3am and look out to see someone with their cell phone throwing virtual balls at invisible targets, you’ll know what’s going on.
