Phishing Scam Costs Bradford Man His Credit Card Information

Police Warning of Flim Flam Email Making The Rounds

South Simcoe Police have another internet scam on their hands. They’re saying a Bradford man gave out too much info the other day, after getting an email claiming to be a receipt from Apple’s iTunes store. The email had a link that read “click here if you did not make these purchases”, so the guy clicked it, and ended up giving out some vital credit card information before realizing the while thing was a scam. Cops call this one Phishing, where scam artists try to get your details via what appears to be legitimate sites or services. Police recommend contacting a company directly in this scenario.
