The Toronto 2015 Parapan Am Games got underway over the weekend and already Canada is off to an amazing start!

Canada isn’t leading the medal standings as we go into Day Three of the competitions today, but they are just one medal out of first place behind Brazil and are looking to make a very strong appearance at this summer’s games. More than 200 athletes are taking part in the various events.

Canada has some very strong athletes competing in many of the sports, with the ParaPan Games1women’s wheelchair basketball team defending its title and the men’s wheelchair rugby team renewing hostilities with the United States, their long time rival in a sport fondly known as “murder ball.”

More than 1,600 athletes from 28 countries are taking part in the Games, which run until August 15.
