Paramedics Help Launch Holiday Blood Donor Campaign

Canadian Blood Services wants to Wrap It Up Red

Eight Simcoe County Paramedics rolled up their sleeves this morning to kick off the Canadian Blood Services Wrap It Up Red holiday campaign – and to encourage others to do the same. Their donations this morning were also in support of fellow paramedic Brian Hekman, who recently underwent a stem cell transplant to save his life. Events in support of the Wrap It Up Red campaign will be held in communities across the country throughout December to remind donors that by taking one hour out of their schedule this holiday season, they are helping to ensure other families are able to spend time with their loved ones. Collecting blood during the holiday season can be challenging as many donors are travelling or are busy with family. This December, more than 125,000 appointments need to be filled. To learn more, or make an appointment to donate, visit blood.ca/wrapitupred
