Over Two Hundred Charges Laid In South Simcoe Police Back To School Blitz

Speeding Tickets Make Up The Bulk

It wasn’t just kids learning their lesson during the first week back to school, looks like a few drivers did too. South Simcoe Police say, in the first nine days of school, 152 drivers were charged for speeding, 28 for running a stop sign, 3 seatbelt violators, 2 distracted drivers, 27 various traffic offenses, and 117 drivers were cautioned. One man was arrested and charged with Drunk Driving right in the middle of the school day too. While the back to school buzz has died down, police say they’ll continue to monitor and enforce school zone rules.
