Orillia Agrees To Sell James Street Property

Land Originally Considered For Recreation Complex

Orillia has tentatively sold of land once considered for the new recreation complex. The city says a number of offers were made for 228 James Street East, but they settled on one from Landen Homes, an organization that’s been building homes in Orillia since 1990. The land was purchased by the city from the public school board in 2009, and originally considered for the recreation complex now being built on West Street. A few conditions need to be met before the sale is finalized, after which the purchase amount could be made public.
