Orillia Closer To Connecting Waterfront With Downtown Core

Agrees to purchase Metro Plaza

The City of Orillia has taken another step forward in its Downtown Tomorrow Plan with the purchase of 70 Front Street North, also known as The Metro Plaza. The property was identified as a key piece of the plan to connect the waterfront with the downtown core and act as a catalyst for future redevelopment. All existing tenants of the plaza, with leases in good standing, will remain in place until further development plans can be discussed and finalized. Maintaining a grocery store in the core is also considered an essential part of the improvement plan, in terms of ensuring growth and development.
