UPDATE: Charges Withdrawn; New Charges Laid In Oro-Medonte Shooting

A twist in the case of a 37-year-old Aurora man found shot last month on Old Barrie Road in the Village of Rugby.

Three men were initially charged with Attempted Murder. Those charges have been withdrawn and the wounded man has been charged with numerous offences including Public Mischief,
Careless Use of a Firearm, Obstructing Justice and drug charges.

In addition, a 28 year old Oro Medonte man has been charged with drug-related offences and a 63 year old Oro Medonte man has been charged with Obstructing Justice.

MAY 16

A 28-year-old man from the Blue Mountains, along with two men from Oro Medonte, aged 30 and 63, have been arrested and charged with Attempted Murder in the wounding of a 37-year-old Aurora man.

The victim suffered life-threatening injuries in a shooting Monday night in Oro-Medonte.

OPP and Simcoe County Paramedics were called to Old Barrie Road in the village of Rugby. The injured man was transported to a hospital in Toronto.
