Ontario Unveils New Culture Strategy
Culture Brings Billions into Ontario Economy
The province is trying to get a little more cultured, with a brand new strategy. Ontario’s Minister of Tourism, Culture, and Sport Elanor McMahon was at the AGO in Toronto to announce the Culture Strategy, which is said to establish goals and actions to promote participation in arts and culture, as well as build on the sector’s economic impact. The strategy will see more Canadian authors’ works in schools, the conservation of heritage buildings, and support for Indigenous cultural activities. It’s said the culture sector adds more than $25 billion to Ontario’s economy.
