Ontario Trails Supported Through New Queen’s Park Bill

Legislation Passed to Improve, Preserve, and Promote Ontario Trails

Some new legislation out of Queen’s Park today that promises to protect the province’s trail system. The Supporting Ontario Trails Act is expected to provide the tools needed for communities to develop and promote trails, expand the system with more connections, and the development of a classification system to help users find the trail that matches their interest. Ontario has the second largest trail network in the country, over 80,000 km, including one of the better known ones, the Bruce Trail.
