Newmarket Police Release Composite Sketch
Suspect Sought Following New Year's Day Sexual Assault
York Regional Police have released a composite sketch following a New Year’s Day sexual assault. Police say an 18-year-old was walking along a pathway near Newmarket’s Davis Dr. around 3:00 January 1st, when she was approached by a man. Investigators say the suspect grabbed her, forced her to the ground, and sexually assaulted her. Police are appealing to any witnesses in the area at the time to come forward. The suspect is described as:

- around 5’9″
- lean build
- 30 to 50 years of age
Wearing:
- light grey jacket
- black hoodie
- black neck warmer
- black boots.
Investigators stress they do not believe this incident to be connected to an ongoing investigation of serial sexual assaults in Newmarket.
