Newmarket Hold Up Suspect Left Empty Handed

Perp Allegedly Left On Foot After Cash Register Didn't Have Enough For His Liking

Newmarket police are looking for a suspect that got too greedy for his own good. Police were called to a Yonge and William Roe Blvd convenience store around 3:30 this morning with reports of an attempted robbery. They say a masked perp went into the store armed with a knife and demanded cash from the clerk. The employee took the money from the register, but the suspect said it wasn’t enough, then took off on foot empty handed. The employee wasn’t injured. The suspect is described as:

  • Male
  • white
  • 5’9”
  • thin build
  • Armed with a large knife

Wearing:

  • black mask covering the lower half of his face
  • sunglasses
  • grey, hooded sweatshirt with the hood up
  • black pants
  • white gloves
