Newmarket Council Seat To Be Filled Via By-Election
Seat Declared Vacant At Last Night's Meeting Of Counci
Some Newmarket residents will be going to the polls by the fall. At last night’s meeting, council voted to declare the Ward 5 seat vacant, and to hold a by-election to fill the post. Candidate nominations can be submitted as of today, right up to September 2nd. More information on nomination submission can be found on Newmarket’s website. Votes will be cast on October 16th, after long-time councillor Joe Sponga resigned at the end of June.
