New Up Cannabis Strains Will Borrow Names From Tragically Hip Songs

Soon You Can Smoke "Grace Too" And "Fifty Mission Cap" Strains

The Tragically Hip are set to see several of their popular song titles become strains of cannabis. A new line of strains from Up Cannabis, of which some band members are investors in, will pay homage to iconic tracks “Grace, Too,” “Fifty-Mission Cap,” “Eldorado,” “Morning Moon,” and “The Last of the Unplucked Gems.”

Plans for the forthcoming strains were unveiled by Hip bassist Gord Sinclair in Creemore, Ontario, on Tuesday.

Up Cannabis is owned by Newstrike. The Tragically Hip announced a partnership with the company in May of 2017.

“The members of The Tragically Hip are known to a generation of Canadians as artists that have never wavered in their commitment to quality and integrity,” Newstrike CEO Jay Wilgar said, via the Brantford Expositor last year. “I am proud, humbled and honoured that they chose to partner with and invest in us.”

With The Hip lending elements of their own brand to the cannabis market, there’s no doubt that Up will move some of this product to curious Canadians.
