New Base Borden Training Facility Unveiled Today

All hands were on deck at Base Borden today, as they took the wraps off a new Military Police Academy. VIPs at the ceremony included Chief of Defense Staff General Jonathan Vance, OPP Commissioner Vince Hawkes, and someone named Shelly Bouska. She’s the daughter of the late retired Col. James Riley Stone, and may have gotten a kick out of seeing her father’s name on the building. Col. Stone, or Big Jim, as he was called by his men, was a highly decorated veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces, the new Military Police Academy building was named in his honour.
