Police Say Man Tried To Avoid Charges By Claiming To Be His Own Brother

A Barrie man is accused of trying to pull a fast one, now he’ll have to explain himself to a judge. Just before 9:00 yesterday morning, a vehicle was stopped on Yonge St. in Innisfil for speeding. Police say the driver told the officer he had no ID with him, but gave the officer a name. Too bad the cop knew the name already. South Simcoe Police say the guy tried to pass himself off as his brother, as his licence was under suspension. The 35-year-old man was taken back to the stationhouse, where he was charged with a few offenses, and picked up by his dad.
