Munich Gunman Was Being Treated For Mental Illness

Police in Munich say the 18 year old gunman in Friday’s mall attack had no ties to ISIS; that he had been in psychiatric care for depression. It appears he hacked a Facebook account and sent a message inviting people to go to the mall for a free giveaway. Nine people were killed, 16 wounded, before the gunman took his own life. Many of the victims were teenagers. The motive for the attack – which began shortly before 6 p.m. at a McDonald’s across the street from the mall – was unclear. Police say there are no indications of accomplices involved.
