UPDATE: Body of Toronto Man Recovered From Lake Simcoe

Police Say Fisherman Was Not Wearing Life Jacket At Time of Death

Oct. 28th – South Simcoe Police report they have recovered the body of Halai Lee. Officers confirm Lee was not wearing a life jacket. While an autopsy has yet to be performed, police believe his death to be accidental.


Oct. 24th – South Simcoe and York Regional Police, and the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre in Trenton are working together to find a Toronto man who may be missing on Lake Simcoe. Fifty-pic28510seven year old Halai Li was in the Innisfil area last Monday to fish on the lake, but never returned home. Police have since found an abandoned vehicle (on the 4th Line of Innisfil near Lake Simcoe) and a kayak that was adrift on the lake. Li is described as:

  • Asian
  • 5’9″ (175 cm), 165 lbs (75 kg)
  • black hair, brown eyes
  • unknown clothing
