Military Update on Sexual Harassment Elimination

New Steps Taken To Eliminate Harassment In Armed Forces, Following Scathing Report

An update today from the head of the Canadian Armed Forces, on their progress in addressing inappropriate sexual behaviour in the military. Chief of Defense Staff General Jon Vance last year announced the creation of Operation Honour in an effort to eliminate harmful behaviour such as sexual harassment and assault from Canada’s military, and he said today that over 60 members of the force have contacted a newly created sexual misconduct response centre, while the forces are looking at ways of encouraging more victims to come forward. The military took these steps following a report from a former Supreme Court Justice last year showing women in the military are routinely subjected to sexually harassing environments.
