What forecasters say could be a potentially catastrophic storm in the eastern Pacific – Hurricane Patrica – is bearing down on the west coast of Mexico. they say waves could reach a height of 12 metres (39 feet). They could race ashore at seven o’clock tonight. Several million residents and tourists, between Puerto Vallarta and Manzanillo, could feel the wrath. The Mexican government has already declared a state of emergency.
