Local Crime Stoppers Celebrate Success With New Signs In Region

Crime Stoppers of Simcoe-Dufferin-Muskoka unveiled one of five new signs this morning outside South Simce Police North Division on Innisfil Beach Road (near Yonge Street). It’s a reminder, says coordinator Chris Lewis, of Crime Stoppers commitment to making the community a safer place, and to empower people to come forward with information regarding a crime. Crime Stoppers Simcoe-Dufferin_Muskoka has achieved the following successes since its inception in 1987:

  • Cases cleared – 6,814
  • Charges – 8,568
  • Rewards‎ approved – $338,587
  • Property‎ recovered – $12,367,780
  • Drugs seized – $64,513,271
  • Total property and drugs – $76,881,051
