InnPower Customers Getting Scam Phonecall

Scam Artists Demanding Phony Security Deposit

A new phone scam out there targeting InnPower customers. Clients of the Innisfil power utility could be getting phone calls, according to South Simcoe Police, asking for a security deposit on your power bill. While InnPower does require a deposit, they told our newsroom you’d get written notice. And if you did owe the utility money, InnPower customer service representatives would ask you to either pay at their offices or via usual channels, like a credit card or cheque. They would not ask for an electronic money transfer or e-cheque.
