Go Jays Go!

Not since the early 1990’s have we seen such excitement and buzz about the Toronto Blue Jays. In fact, even a couple of weeks back it was kind of the same old, same old, but after a couple of incredible trades, and some remarkable results, suddenly the Blue Jays look like contenders.

Ticket sales are up. Merchandise sales are up. The television ratings are rising, and this weekend’s series with the New York Yankees is already sold-out, with some tickets selling in the $1,000’s on internet web sites. Suddenly, the Toronto Blue Jays have become the hottest ticket in town.

The City of Toronto has been starved for many years without a winning sports team to cheer for, so there is a LOT of pent up demand for sports fans to get behind a team that is doing well. It’s been 22 years since the Blue Jays have been in the playoffs. Could this be the year they will break the draught? This fun, refreshing team seems to be poised to make a good run.

Normally, by this time of year, we’d already be saying “Well, there’s always NEXT year”. This year, the Toronto Blue Jays are going to give fans something to cheer for and believe in. If you’re a sports fan, hold on, and enjoy the ride.
