Woman Charged Over Fake Cheques and Documentation
A Georgina woman is facing allegations she defrauded her local chamber of commerce out over 20 G’s. York Regional Police Fraud Detectives were contacted by the Georgina Chamber of Commerce back in January, of a possible fraud. Investigators say the 42-year-old woman wrote up some fraudulent cheques and documents, fleecing the chamber out of $20,000. She is due in Newmarket court at the end of the month to answer to charges of Fraud and Breach of Trust.
