Parks Canada will celebrate Canada’s 150th Birthday in a big way – they’re waiving all entrance fees for 2017.
The free passes that get you unlimited access to all of Canada’s National Marine Conservation Areas and National Historic Sites and they are now available to order online. Just in time for Christmas!
Youth and new Canadians will continue to be granted free access through 2018.
What will it costs Park’s Canada? Most of the $670 million annual budget for Parks Canada is funded by the federal government, but other fees like camping, rentals and reservations also generate revenue. Parks Canada is expected to lose close to $60 million for this initiative. Well worth the loss!
*Annual passes bought for 2016 will now be valid for two years
