First Light At Sainte-Marie Sets Attendance Record

Two weekend event attracts huge crowds

It was a banner year for the First Light Celebration at Sainte-Marie Among The Hurons. Spread over over two weekends this year, it attracted more than 11-thousand visitors – double the count of last year and the highest attendance in its 16 year history. It also brought $809,000 to the local economy in the form of  accommodations, visits to restaurants, bars and entertainment. In addition, nearly 9000 pounds of food were collected for the Salvation Army.
