Fire Bans Continue

For now

Yesterday’s rain was a help, but after close to a month of high heat and very dry conditions throughout Central Ontario, experts are warning that conditions are still in a tinder-like state and depending on what the weather does in the coming days will determine if there will be any movement in the fire ban notifications that have been set up in many areas across the region including Muskoka.

There is more rain in the forecast in the coming days, although it looks like it will be isolated in nature with varying amounts of rainfall predicted for different areas and with the possibility of thunderstorms in the mix, the potential for lighting strikes causing more fires is a real possibility.

If you have camping plans in the next few weeks ahead, keep tuned to ROCK 95 for the latest details on the fire ban status, and if there is any change, we’ll let you know.
