Byelection Day In Barrie Ward 7

Voters in Barrie’s Ward 7 choose a new councillor today to fill the vacancy left by John Brassard when he left for federal politics. Voting will take palce at the Holl Community Centre on Mapleton Avenue betwen 10am and 8pm. There is also a final special voting opportunity at Roberta Place and Roberta Lodge for the residents of the two facilities from 9am to 10am.

Get on the Voters’ List
To make voting fast and easy, make sure you’re on the Voters’ List. Residents can check for their name on the list by visiting barrie.ca/elections or by calling 705-728-VOTE (8683) from Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

To be on the Voters’ List and vote in the Ward Seven By-election one must: be a Canadian citizen, at least 18 years of age, a resident of Ward Seven, or a non-resident owner or tenant of land in Ward Seven (or their spouse), and not be prohibited from voting under any law.

Note: A final special voting opportunity will be held at Roberta Place and Roberta Lodge for the residents of the two facilities on Monday, February 1 from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.

Residents are reminded to bring their voter notice along with acceptable identification (showing name and Ward Seven address) when going to vote. Voter notices arrived in the mail last week to all Ward Seven residents on the Voters’ List. Residents who did not receive a voter notice, may not be on the Voters’ List and are encouraged to check the List before going to vote.
