Barrie

Family Day Winter Adventure – horse-drawn sleigh rides, ice carving activities, hockey, broomball, skating, live entertainment and more.

Free Family Skate – sponsored by MPP Anne Hoggarth – Holly Community Centre, 1-3pm

Blue Mountain

Family Day fun at Blue Mountain, when they got a fireworks display over the Mill Pond, Sunday at 9pm.

Bradford

The BWG Leisure Centre will be open to the public from 8am to 4pm. Leisure skating sponsored by RBC Financial Services will take place on both rinks at the Leisure Centre from 9:40am to 11:20am. Additionally, the aquatic centre will be open for lane swimming and parent and tot swimming from 10:00am-1:00pm. The afternoon will include leisure swimming from 1:15pm-3:00pm. Finally, the gymnasium will be available for parent and toddler time from 9:15am-11:00am and in open gymnasium format from 11:30am-4pm.

Collingwood

The Town of Collingwood has some great activities planned to keep you and your family, active and having fun this Family Day.

On Family Day, Monday, February 15, come on out to Central Park for skating, snowshoeing and a family scavenger hunt. You can also try out a fat bike, ice table hockey, or some Healthy Kids Community Challenge activities. When you need to warm up, there will be free hot chocolate, a campfire and a warm up lunch area to keep you and your family toasty.

To celebrate the winter season and the wonderful ‘tastes’ to be found at our downtown restaurants, coffee shops and foodie shops, the Sweet Taste of Winter will begin on Family Day weekend and continue until February 20.

Family Day Weekend will be complete with various interactive and fun ice installations throughout downtown including a maple taffy bar, ice building blocks, tic tac toe and sculptures made for fun photos.

Looking to start your Family Day celebrations early, and stay active the entire weekend? We’re hosting a Moonlight Snowshoe on Saturday, February 13, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and a free Community Swim sponsored by the Rotary Club of Collingwood on Saturday, February 13 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. For more details on these and many more free weekend activities, visit collingwood.ca/familyday !

Join in the winter fun at Haliburton Frostfest this Saturday, with wagon rides, snow sculptures, and more from Head Lake Park at Haliburton Village.

Honey Harbour

Honey Harbour’s Winterfest features entertainment and fun for the whole family at Honey Harbour Park this Saturday.

New Tecumseth

Please join us with your families for a free family skate offered in both Alliston and Tottenham recreation centres and the New Tecumseth Recreation Centre from 11am-3pm

Orillia

Orillia Winter Carnival – Vintage Snowmobile Show, Ice carving, Snow Slide, Petting Zoo, Helicopter Rides, Winter Olympics Events (tire flips, friendship skis etc.) and more

Penetanguishene 

Winterama – A celebration of Canadian seasonality, Winterama is an opportunity to renew an interest in outdoor activity; enhance community spirit and pride through people, partnership and products; share the heritage and culture of the community and welcome families, friends and visitors alike in celebration. NOTE: Due to conditions the Family Fishing Event has been cancelled.

Simcoe County Museum

Celebrate Family Day at the Simcoe County Museum and take part in a tremendous line-up of family focused programming. Families can participate in a wide-range of activities including Snowsnake Challenge, the Really Big Shoe snowshoeing and orienteering contest, and the fantastic Sliding Through the Ages tobogganing event. Trophies and prize packs will be awarded to our winning families, as well as prizes for the largest, oldest and most unique toboggans. Does your family have what it takes to become champions?

Regular Museum rates apply: Museum Members and Preschoolers are free; Adults $6; Student and Seniors $5; and Children $4.

Wasaga Beach 

Snowman Mania – For four days, Wasaga Beach comes alive with music, food, competitions, talent showcases, winter sports, charity fundraising and much more! NOTE: opening night fireworks (Friday) have been cancelled due to forecast wind and cold.

YMCA

The YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka is thrilled to be opening its doors on Monday, February 15 for Family Day from 10:00am-5:00pm. This FREE community open house will feature various programs and activities for the whole family, including open gym and swim times in all YMCA locations across Simcoe/Muskoka (excluding Parry Sound which will be closed for the day).
