Engine Trouble Out on Lake Simcoe

Leaky Boat Had Police Escort Back to Marina

Just when you thought it was safe to go out on the water… the boat springs a leak. Happened over the long weekend, South Simcoe Police were out on marine patrol when a distress call came in around 2km west of the mouth of Lake Simcoe in Kempenfelt Bay: a vessel was taking on water but the engine wouldn’t turn over. Police got there to find everyone on board wearing life jackets, and with a little finagling, the engine was able to turn over. It was still taking on water, police followed close as the craft made it back to the Barrie City Marian and loaded onto its trailer.
