DUI Charge Laid In Tay Township

Cops Say Driver Struck A Tree And Reeked Of Alcohol

A Tay Township man has some explaining to do in court, after a car struck a tree. Around 3:00 this morning, Southern Georgian Bay OPP got the call to William St. in Tay, arriving to find a vehicle had struck a tree, while the driver was still there. Police say they could smell booze on his breath, so they gave him the usual barrage of roadside tests. A 20-year-old man has been charged with a DUI, his vehicle was impounded for a week, and his licence suspended for 90 days.
