Impaired Driving Charge Laid After Off-Duty Officer Called Police

A sharp eyed off-duty officer helped put the cuffs on a suspected drunk driver. South Simcoe Police got the 911 call from a York Regional Police officer who was off the clock and following what they thought was an impaired driver. The susect vehicle was found north of Stroud and pulled over, where police say the woman at the wheel had the smell of booze on her breath. A 47-year-old Barrie woman was charged after failing a series of breath tests.
