Creemore Resident Nearly Duped In Music Scam

Email demanded personal info to cancel charge

A new scam to add to the list. OPP say a Creemore resident received an email from an internet music service saying he had ordered a large number of songs and would be charged a large sum of money if he did not provide personal and financial information to cancel the charge. The e-mail was determined to be fraudulent and not associated to the actual internet song provider. As always, police advise you not respond to unsolicited emails, letters or phone calls, and note that businesses you do business with regularly would not be asking for personal information by email or through social media.
