Conservation Officials Issue Advisory With Heavy Rain Expected
Flooding, Fast Flowing Water Likely
The remains of Hurricane Patricia literally pouring into the region today. Heavy rainfall warnings are in effect from Innisfil to Toronto. There’s the potential for 50 millimetres of rain in some areas and a wind to 60 kilometres an hour. This goes for points north from Barrie to Muskoka as well. Conservation authorities are concerned about flooding in low-lying areas and fast flowing rivers and streams. Best not to get too close – the banks will be muddy and slippery making it easy to lose your footing and fall in.
