Collingwood Fire Destroys Newly Vacant Cottage

Residents Moved Out Days Prior

A few fire trucks remained on scene past the lunch hour, watching for flare ups following a fire in Collingwood. Emergency crews got the call to the Downer St. cottage just after 6:30 Tuesday morning, arriving to find the structure fully engulfed in flame. Officials say the residents moved out during the weekend, the structure was empty at the time of the blaze, and no injuries were reported. No cause has been determined yet, while early indications point to the fire getting its start in the kitchen area.
