Clear Springwater Hydrants and Earn Community Service Hours

Township Crediting Half An Hour Per Hydrant

Springwater Township is offering local students a way of easily crossing a few hours off their community service list. These days, students are required to perform 40 hours of community service in order to graduation, and Springwater says they can earn a half an hour towards that total by clearing snow from area fire hydrants. Once the snow has been shoveled away, a student need only tweet a picture of the work to @SpringwaterTwp along with the location and the hashtag #GoodNeighbours. The hydrant needs to be accessible from all sides, and you only get half an hour per hydrant, unless the same hydrant needs to be cleared multiple times over the winter months.
