City of Barrie Asks Residents What To Do About Sunnidale Park Facility

Aging Dorian Parker Centre's Future in Residents' Hands.

What to do about the Dorian Parker Centre? That’s the question behind a recent meeting and an online survey, aimed at finding more, if any, uses for the aging Sunnidale Park facility. A recent report from city staff pegs the cost of upgrading the centre to current standards at about $300,000 while replacing it would cost over a million dollars. The idea of eliminating the facility altogether has also been floated by city staff. The public consultation meeting held last week and the online survey available now are designed to find out what Barrie residents want to see happen to the Dorian Parker Centre. The results of both will be taken into consideration as the city moves forward with their plans for this and all recreational facilities in the city.
