Cigarette Dispute Leads To Charges Laid in Barrie

A Barrie man is up on charges after it appears he went through a pretty severe “nic fit”. Around 9:30 last night, police got the call to a home on Fox Run, with reports a man was on a rampage, trying to break in, while destroying property around the house. They say it all started when the 23-year-old suspect’s step mom refused to give him any cigarettes, so investigators say he kicked in the front door, ripped off the doorbell, kicked in the driver’s side door of the family car, ripped down security cameras, tipped over a BBQ, and shattered a glass table. Police say the lad fled before they got there, but was tracked down later to be arrested and charged.
