Canine Unit Helps Find Man After Stunt Driving Incident

Barrie Man Facing 8 Charges Following Fast Drive

A Barrie man is facing numerous charges after fleeing from police and crashing a vehicle, then taking off on foot, leading police on a search that required the assistance of tracking dogs. On Sunday, around 11:30 AM, police observed a vehicle on the 400 doing 170 km/h in 100 km/h zone.  Officers attempted to stop the car but the driver continued southbound. Then, just before noon police say the same vehicle was involved in a single vehicle collision at highway 93… And that the driver had fled the scene. That’s when the Canine Unit was brought in. A 52 year old Barrie man is now facing 8 charges, including Flight from an Officer and Stunt Driving.
