UPDATE: Charges Upgraded In Bradford Beating

Sixth person charged

Wed Nov 4 – Five people – four men and a woman – have been charged with Manslaughter in the September death of a man who was found beaten in Bradford. They are also facing charges of Assault Causing bodily Harm and Assault with a Weapon. Fifty-six year old James McCallen suffered severe head injuries in the attack and died two weeks later at hospital; his son was treated for a broken arm and ligament damage. Charges against a sixth person have been dropped.

Sat Sep 26 – A sixth person has been charged in the death of a Bradford man. South Simcoe Police say a 20 year old Mississauga man turned himself in Friday. he has been charged with Manslaughter, Assault with a Weapon and Assault Causing Bodily Harm. The 56 year old man was found September 12, on Centre Street, suffering from severe head injuries. Fri Sep 25 – A 56 year old man who suffered severe head injuries in attack in Bradford two weekends has died of his injuries. His adult son is recovering from a broken arm and ligament damage he sustained in the attack. Five people, from the Bradford-area, Newmarket and North York have been charged with of Aggravated Assault, Assault With A Weapon and Assault Causing Bodily Harm. South Simcoe Police will be consulting the Crown Attorney regarding an upgrade of the charges.
