Brace For a Blast of Brrrr, Barrie

Environment Canada Says Snow Squall Band Moving Towards Barrie For Friday Afternoon

Old Man Winter paid a visit to western Simcoe County Thursday night.

That’s Mark Schuster, Meteorologist with Environment Canada, who had a hand in issuing the Snow Squall Warnings that were, as of the time of this writing, still in effect for Barrie and Simcoe County. We asked Mark if that means Barrie could see the same amounts of snowfall as this band shifts eastward over Friday afternoon.

Mark says the snow squall band coming in off Georgian Bay will move over Barrie through Friday afternoon, before winds begin to weaken this evening.
