Barrie Police Lay Fraud Charge Over Second Bank Account

Woman Entrusted With Banking Info Facing Charges

A Midhurst woman is up on fraud charges after an over two year investigation. Barrie Police say they got the call in September of 2013 by a Barrie man claiming he saw too many inconsistencies on his credit history, including a fraudulent account opened in his name. Investigators say a woman the victim had entrusted with helping him with business and residential loans had used his personal information to open a second account and applied for four different loans through it. The 48-year-old woman is awaiting a court date, while the victim tries to smooth things over with creditors.
