Barrie Out of The Cold Kicking Off Season

Altruistic Organization Will Be Busy From Tonight Straight Through to April

You know winter is almost upon us when the Barrie Out of The Cold program kicks off. These fine folks will be opening their doors as of 6:00 this evening, to provide an alternative to sleeping out in the cold, straight through to April. This will mark Barrie Out of The Cold’s 19th year in providing a safe space and some hot meals for Barrie’s less fortunate; last year alone, they provided shelter and meals nearly 5,500 times. Tonight, they’ll be at St. Andrews Presbyterian on Owen Street, and they still need volunteers too. Organizers say the Barrie Out of The Cold program requires over a thousand volunteers for a successful season.
