Barrie, Federal Jobless Rates Don’t Budge

Provincial Unemployment Rate Edges Down Slightly

Not much movement on the unemployment front, both at home and across the land. Barrie’s jobless rate of 8.5 per cent didn’t budge last month, while the provincial rate went down two-tenths to 6.4 per cent, after the Ontario economy added 25,400 new jobs to the market. The Federal jobless rate held steady last month at seven per cent, with nearly 44,000 jobs added in September, mostly part time.
